One-on-One Aide

Overview
The One on One Aide's primary responsibility is to work with the individual student which has been assigned to the Aide. The Aide provides the specials education student with activities and experiences designed to help fulfill his/her potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

Education and/or Experience
Associate Degree from an accredited college or university, or Paraprofessional License is preferred. Prior experience working with emotionally and/or behaviorally challenged students.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to perform physical restraints according to the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in the agency facility in which the program takes place.
Responsibilities
Reward and encourage students in accordance with the agency's policy of Unconditional Positive Regard.
Integrate Attachment & Attunement theory and methods into the classroom.
Incorporate/ encompass Agency trainings in Therapeutic Crisis Interventions and Life Space Crisis Interventions with Agency's students.
Assists individual student in the areas of behavior management instructional support, activities of daily living, social skills training, task redirection, etc.
Mediate, counsel, and instruct socially appropriate alternative to negative and destructive behaviors.
Complete incident reports and physical restraint reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist in the development of behavioral IEP goals for assigned student.
Participate in the design, implementation, and tracking progress of interventions for the student, such as Functional Behavior Analysis (FBAs).
Initiate and facilitate communication with parents, team members, and outside agencies where appropriate, in a professional manner.
Assist with Agency's compliance of Federal Law IDEIA, and Ohio Special Education laws and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of all student information and records.
Comply with all Agency policies and procedures including CARF.
Other duties as assigned.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
