The Deputy Bailiff, at the direction of the Bailiff is to perform any and all duties and responsibilities pertaining to the office of the Bailiff of the Court as required by law and by order of the Court.
Major Duties and
Responsibilities:
1.
OFFICE ASSIGNMENT Provide clerical support by recording service of papers, keeping appropriate records and forwarding data and returns of the office of the Clerk of Court.
2.
SECURITY ASSIGNMENT Maintain order and decorum in courtroom and all public areas of the court.
Oversee the transfer, escorting and guarding of all prisoners, probationers and defendants to appropriate destinations.
Direct and assist general public when possible.
Assist the Judges as directed or required.
Assist the Magistrate's as required in courtroom procedures and provide security.

Provide prisoner escort Performs all required courtroom duties Stock courtrooms Open Court and maintains order Provide security by monitoring security desk, metal detector and x-ray machine Other duties as assigned by Chief Bailiff or Clerk of Court/Court Administrator Ability to write and perform minimal functions on a PC Reasoning Skills:
Ability to analyze, interpret, and react to situations that could be life threatening.
Human Relations Skills:
Provide quality service that continuously improves, that meets or exceeds public expectations, and that ensures all are treated with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
Ability to interact with defendants, witnesses, attorneys, and police officers in a professional, even tempered, patient and courteous manner.
Physical Demands:
Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.
Ability to perform self-defense techniques in the performance of the job.
Principal Working Relationships:
Requires frequent contact with Judges, Clerk of Court, Bailiff, attorneys, litigants, police officers and general public.

Minimum Experience and Education Required:
High School graduate or equivalent required.
The completion of at least two years of full-time post-secondary education at an accredited college or university is preferred.
Law enforcement experience advantageous.
Must possess a valid Ohio Driver's License.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
